Welcome to all new and existing families to Kuranui School
Mission Statement
“Striving to be the best we can in a caring and safe learning environment”
Kuranui School was established at the beginning of 2004 with the successful merger of Okoroire and Tapapa Schools as part of a Government Education Initiative.
The school has endeavoured to maintain the history of both schools and communities by moving the main Tapapa school building onto the Okoroire site. This building, which has been aptly named the “Tapapa” block, houses equipment, library and senior classroom. The “Okoroire” block comprises of the three other classrooms and the administration area.
The school operates an open door policy and has a warm, approachable staff. It is our firm belief that working with families in a partnership enables us to provide an opportunity for children to develop into happy, educated life-long learners.
The school promotes the demonstration of the ‘Kura Kid’ qualities, where all our students strive to do their best in themselves, their learning and in relating to others.
We offer a wealth of opportunities including small class sizes, teacher aide support, STEAM teaching, Enviroschools activities, sports and school productions just to name a few.
I look forward to meeting you and your family.
